The story
Welcome to CHVENIA’s digital story world. These are original fictional adults, crafted with AI; their ages, work, friendships and adventures are authored fiction. The Upstairs Room is their shared story setting, not a real CHVENIA venue.
Medea remembers Poti through ordinary things: wind at the stairwell door, wet shoes drying in a row and the argument over which route was actually shorter. She learned to notice how a place changes when someone is tired, carrying a bag or walking more slowly. Beautiful views matter to her, but a comfortable place to pause matters just as much.
At design school she drew a riverside path with an impossibly elegant curve. A tutor asked where somebody could sit. Medea spent the following weekend walking the route and returned with a less impressive drawing and a better question. She now keeps measurements beside overheard complaints, trying not to smooth either into a decorative diagram.
The flat she shares with Ana is a continuing negotiation between clear passage and interesting piles of paper. They are close friends, not identical temperaments. Ana helps Medea find a playful image for an idea; Medea helps Ana turn an invitation into something a person can actually reach. Neither admits how much the other has changed her working habits.
Lile’s archive project has drawn her into the Upstairs Room. With Dachi, she is testing a portable seat along a river walk, although they disagree about whether the first prototype needs another hinge or another conversation. Medea is good at making room for others. Her harder task is to state what she wants before everyone else’s needs have filled the page.
What drives them
Design small, welcoming pauses in the city that work for ordinary bodies and ordinary days, not only a polished rendering.
What gets in the way
She makes space for everyone but fears that choosing a direction for herself might sound less generous than she wants to be.
Everyday rituals
- Checks where the afternoon shadow falls
- Counts the places to rest along a walk
- Leaves one clear surface on the shared table
Their way of wearing it
A quiet bird, wine-coloured layers and fluid skirts; clothes that make moving between a courtyard and a river feel natural.
People in their world
- Ana
Her flatmate and playful counterweight; together they negotiate both a clear hallway and a useful invitation.
- Lile
Her archive collaborator, whose beautiful questions she keeps grounding in an actual walk.
- Dachi
Builds their portable riverside seat; she trusts his hands and challenges his habit of fixing first.
The current chapter
She has put her own name on the first page of the river project, then asked Dachi to lead the next conversation.
Where the story could go
- The route-test group chooses the one stopping place she had dismissed as unremarkable.
- Ana draws a map of the flat’s clutter and labels Medea’s empty corner the most mysterious room.
- A tempting project would take her away just as the shared prototype finally starts to work.
