The story
Welcome to CHVENIA’s digital story world. These are original fictional adults, crafted with AI; their ages, work, friendships and adventures are authored fiction. The Upstairs Room is their shared story setting, not a real CHVENIA venue.
Lile discovered early that the most interesting family stories changed according to who was telling them. A heroic departure became a missed train; a stern ancestor turned out to have written excellent jokes. Rather than choosing a single version, she started recording the differences. Her grandmother called this useful curiosity, provided she did not use it during an argument about bedtime.
She studied how objects acquire authority, then discovered that she was much better at asking questions than introducing herself. Her first exhibition text was so cautious that nobody could tell what she thought. She rewrote it after a long walk with Nino, replacing six protective paragraphs with one clear sentence and a question she was genuinely willing to hear answered.
Historic portraits interest Lile because somebody once chose how to frame the person inside them. She wears a cultural reference without wanting to turn herself into a period illustration. With Rati, she is developing a digital companion for Nino’s entrance archive: several voices for each place, with disagreements visible rather than quietly resolved by the interface.
Medea keeps challenging the project’s effortless use of the word accessible. Who can reach the entrance? Who gets a seat? Lile appreciates these questions until they delay her own elegant plan. She is learning to be as curious about the practical consequences of an idea as she is about its history, and to accept that a compelling caption cannot fix a broken route.
What drives them
Create a living neighbourhood archive in which a question is as valuable as a beautiful image or confident answer.
What gets in the way
She wants history to remain complicated while secretly hoping her own role in it will become reassuringly clear.
Everyday rituals
- Keeps a question at the top of every page
- Reads labels before looking at the object
- Records changes of mind in green ink
Their way of wearing it
Fluid ivory shirts, a historic image in burgundy and an ordinary notebook; references belong in the present, not behind glass.
People in their world
- Nino
Her entrance-archive partner; Lile supplies the awkward questions behind Nino’s careful images.
- Rati
Builds the archive’s digital routes and challenges her to turn an idea into a usable screen.
- Medea
The landscape designer who refuses to let access remain only an attractive word in her introduction.
The current chapter
She is rewriting the archive introduction after walking its route with Medea, this time starting with a bench rather than a grand idea.
Where the story could go
- Two neighbours describe the same doorway in completely incompatible ways, and both demand the final caption.
- A family notebook contains a joke she has confidently attributed to the wrong person.
- Medea invites her to test the entire archive route carrying the equipment herself.
